Ealing foodbank are running seriously low on bags for packing clients food and put out an appeal for anyone who had spare long life bags at home to donate them to the warehouse.

Since lockdown my street's mutual aid whatsapp group has been going strong with neighbours sharing and coordinating help where needed so I asked if anyone had bags they wanted to donate so I could arrange getting them to the Foodbank. Lots of people replied and I soon had hundreds and hundreds of bags to give them!

I filled up my biggest backpack and loaded my handlebars with as many as I could and pedaled up to the warehouse to donate them.

If you want to donate bags and/or food to Ealing foodbank you can find their donation points here.

Helping local people in crisis

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
