Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by York runner
Six GoodGym folk trotted out to the Trust Hut at Naburn Station to complete a variety of tasks. After a January of double figure Good deeds this was Barbara's 50th good deed - Go Babs!
A tree had fallen at the edge of a farmers field and had been chopped into handy logs but they needed bringing back to the hut for a bit of up-cycling.
Ben and Nick set to work throwing the logs up the bank and onto the path while Ellie, Leanne and Barbara collected them up and kept an eye out for passing cyclists and runners in case we took one out with a well aimed log. Ellie said
I think you should get an extra point if you can land one log on top of another
Needless to say we never managed that. Logs were balanced and carried back and Ellie brought back a load in the wheelbarrow to the Trust Hut where Christine had been busy painting a crate.
After using three benches for a few quick core exercises Leanne, Barbara and Nick got to work painting up the benches before we all gave Christine a last helping hand finishing off the crate. Ben hasn't yet fully understood the shambolic ethos of GoodGym York and was lying on his back with a small paintbrush systematically painting out the harder to find nooks and crannies of the crate - Good job Ben!
