Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sian Dobson Hughes
Last night's group run saw 5 GoodGymers run out to Beyond Bea baby loss charity to give a helping hand to paint their newly acquired premises.
Beyond Bea is a wonderful charity which aims to improve care for families affected by baby loss by raising awareness and educating health care professionals in the UK.
We welcomed a new member to the team, Laura, and also saw the return of our fabulous Trafford GoodGym tourist Meera.
With lighter nights, the headtorches remained tucked away for the return journey. We set off on the 1.4 mile journey to the new premises of Beyond Bea and got a little excited with the light nights and warmer weather that we overshot our run by 100 meters of so and so doubled back to find the unsuspecting location nestled in between warehouses in Stockport. A BEAutiful haven amongst the workshops.
Steph, the founder of Beyond Bea, met us at the venue and had had a busy few days CHIPPING away at the painting already and with a vast space to fill, we got stuck straight in. The previous occupants chose a garish purple which desperately needed covering!
We were greeted with pizza treats and snacks galore and got stuck in to covering the purple with neutral grey and the peach walls with a crisp white. Meera took the doors, Rob (the professional, and the tallest of the task force) took the highs, Laura and Sian took the bare walls and Sarah, the perfectionist, took the skirting boards.
Before we knew it, the task time was over but there was still more painting to do so, never to leave a job unfinished, we will be back next with the return of the paint sessions.
With headtorches lit, we returned to base and look forward to returning next week to finish the job!
A beyond BEAutiful Tuesday evening task!
