I gave Mrs S a call yesterday to check what she needed. It was a good thing I did because she had managed to get some things from the list I was sent and wanted to add on flour so she could me a cake for her son who needs a bit of cheering up. I asked her what the priorities in her list were in case it’s cost too much. The flour, she said, so I can make that cake.

Armed with my list I went out to the shops and managed to get into a large Sainsbury’s without queuing and found everything I needed, well almost! They didn’t have ANY flour!

I went into several shops first thing this morning, same again, NO flour.

I gave up and made my way to her house later the morning. In the middle of an estate round the corner from hers was a solitary corner shop. I thought I had to give it a go and went in with low expectations. Guess what they had? Flour!

My quest had been successfull, or so I thought. I got to Mrs S’ she was cheerful despite having to shield from Covid-19. Its not all gloom and doom, she said, I have my beautiful flowers on my balcony which I get to watch grow in this lovely weather. I was in awe of her positive spirit.

When I delivered her bags I realised I’d left her chips in my freezer! I have one more quick visit to Mrs S left, luckily my forgetfulness only made her laugh :)
