Last night we were back at Cultivate London, a charity focused on using derelict land for good and educating young people in nature and horticulture. We've been slowly but surely supporting them with their upcoming move, which hopefully will be happening in the New Year.
After what began as a chilly run down to the task, we soon arrived to find Mike with our job for the evening. So, gloves on, we got ourselves ready. The first stage was to get rid of several huge trunks and shelving units, which turned out to be the perfect size for Michelle to cosy up in. Luckily we narrowly avoided putting her into the tip too, and soon began on the next step which was to form a human chain and get rid of all the surplus wood into the skip.
It was all going smoothly when we encountered the biggest spider in Chiswick. While brave Divya stepped into the head of the chain, equally brave Michelle dispatched the giant beast over to next door's plot. Hope the builders there today aren't arachnophobes!
After 40 minutes of hard work we had made a huge dent, so it was back to Turnham Green for fitness. This session was based on a tabata workout, alternating high energy bursts with strength moves. Burpees are not the most popular exercise, but you all smashed it!
Next week we're back at Cavendish school for our second session clearing an area for a new learning space. You can sign up here for more Wednesday fun doing good and getting fitter!
