We had a lovely morning helping Ms. D sort her garden out. The prickly reception certainly wasn't from her - she was a very friendly lady with lots of stories to tell! There was, however, an exceptionally prickly bush that we had to cut back which certainly put up a fight!

We started off by cutting back a bush that was right by the path, so trimming it meant that it was easier for Ms. D and other residents to walk through. There were some pretty berries on it that the blackbirds love apparently, so we made sure to keep them! We were also under strict instructions not to touch the fushcia under the window, which was very pretty indeed.

We then moved on to some bushes by the garden wall, and Ms. D pruned some rose bushes while we all had a chat. This is where we encountered the horrible prickly bush, which Ms. D said she regrets ever planting! Steve did very well and got up on a step ladder to get rid of the top branches.

Once we tidied up, we went in and had a chat with Ms. D and she offered us a very tasty coconut and raspberry cake! We said we'd be more than happy to arrange another mission to help remove some more of the cuttings, because we filled the garden waste bin right to the top. Hopefully we'll be back!

In true GoodGym Norwich fashion, both me and Steve forgot to get any proper photos. We managed to get two of us when we'd just started - but no after photos! Steve looks very serious with those shears...
