Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Emdad Rahman
There’s nothing quite like a #GoodGym lunchtime mission to be productive, energetic and dust away those cobwebs.
For me it gets me away from all that technology and for at least thirty minutes I am reliant on traditional methods foe travelling, transportation and leisure.
So it was over to St Hilda’s to collect lunch and snacks for our elderly residents who are isolated and homebound - There are so many vulnerable people out there who just crave a little human contact and those few minutes with the recipients is something they greatly look forward to.
Loneliness is an issue which greatly affects our communities and this has quite possibly escalated for many people during the coronavirus lockdown. It has for many of the unlucky souls I meet.
The reality is quite startling.
Aside to this is the effect on people’s mental health wellbeing and you can see why it’s so important to keep in touch with friends, family, neighbours.
A simple gesture like a text, call, email, window knock takes seconds but can make someone’s day.
I tried hard to beat the rain but got unlucky in the end. Luckily, I had a change of clothes handy.

I love that you brought a change of clothes. No rain disruption for you, Emdad. Thanks for another great report (sending this one over to St Hilda's).
