A full on GG re-union before even arriving at the task having bumped into Alex cycling back from a fitness session in the park, then Chris and Dan walking in the park after their own session. Chris was persuaded to come along and say a socially distanced ‘hi’ to the others signed up to the task and managed to eat a cake (homemade by Alice) before heading back home to retain his 299 good deeds before the big 300.

The rest of us set about the area of the garden and surrounds with forks, loppers and hand weeders to clear more areas and fencing. The heavens opened so we headed indoors for hand-washing and socially distanced tea and cake (or coffee for Richard B, fusspot.

It soon stopped raining so we headed back out at which point it started raining again, but we’re hardy folk and got lots more clearing done. Julie discovered a new favourite weeding tool and Maria did some tree-pruning to boot before we left the garden and headed back to town. Maria and I went on the magical mystery tour that is Malik’s grocery store and came home with watermelons. As you do.

Looking after our lovely city park

Looking after Eastville Park - a large Victorian park with a range of facilities just two miles north-east of Bristol city centre. It is a great place to relax surrounded by a spacious and diverse landscape.
