A rocky start and a smooth finish
13 GoodGymers made their way 5.0km to help their local community in Tower Hamlets.
- Monday, 7th of December 2015
- Led by Laura Williams
12 runners, including two newbie's, gathered at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green and after a robust warm up we ran to the nearby labyrinth that is the Hollybush Estate to find rocky park. After a swift run to the estate we had a few comedy moments trying to establish around which corner the park existed - the running gods clearly found this amusing, the graffiti behind us declared "subtle chaos" as we searched for our destination
Testament to his leadership, Tom quickly established order and we found Rocky Park and got to work sweeping and bagging garden debris for the compost and the moved and filled poly tunnels with plants. We then ran via Broadway Market to London fields and completed circuits interrupted by four short 30 second bursts of full pelt running, this was repeated until legs wobbled and time ran out and we headed back to base for the cool down.
What made the evening was the heartfelt thanks for Goodgym's continued support and Ferraro Roche to boot - we were very spoiled.
