Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
7 runners returned to the Irish Causeway to prepare the garden for weedproofing
This week Varon was away, so Dashing Dave lead the warm up. Despite his inability tell clockwise from widdershins we got moving in a small circle. Adding some dynamic stretches with silly names like "picking up apples" and "the penguin".
We then ran 1km to the Irish Causeway. Last time we were there we did a great job knocking back the overgrowth in the back garden. This time we here to finish the job!
We took it in turns to take on several taks. Separating out green waste from litter (including everything from carpets to roofing tile, including a few classic 90's CDs). Turning the soil to dig out any weeds that had started sprouting since last time. And even popping into a neighbours to tackle a monumental elderflower bush that was blocking light from the 1st floor windows! We even got to knock in the first few pegs of the weedproof matting, before it was time for a round of Haringey High Fives, and to move on.
As it was only a short run back to base, we had time to fit in quick fitness session in the park. A few Back to Basic running exercises including Helium Head inspired by PSBs training sessions. Then back to the start for those all important stretches. Oli caught Dave trying to skip his dreaded toe grab, so we got that in, and even made it a developmental stretch!
See you next week when Varon's back!
