On a cold autumn evening, Goodgym duo Peter and James met to do good and ran 8km in the process.

With the clocks going back at the weekend, it was a cold dark start to the night. With a few regulars missing due to ultra marathons, races and injury it was down to a skeleton crew to keep things going at Goodgym Redbridge. With just two runners, the planned task was switched to helping at Wanstead House Community Association and the never ending task of painting the ironwork that surrounds the house. The team has been working hard on this over the summer and the rusty iron gates are now looking shiny and bright.

With 45 minutes of scraping, wire brushing and painting done, all that was left was a quick 8km run on the usual winter loop - taking in Epping Forest, Eagle Lake and Wanstead.

We have plenty of tasks coming over the next few weeks including a trip to Ilford Foodbank and some work with Wanstead Library. Be sure to check out the events page and sign up!
