It was a soggy Sunday morning, but Effie, Sam and Pauline arrived bright and early at the home of Mrs F . Currently in hospital following a stroke, she is awaiting discharge but requires some items/clothing removing from downstairs to upstairs to allow space for her to walk using her zimmer frame.

Mrs F’s daughter met the runners, and was immediately impressed with their sunny smiles, enthusiasm and ‘can do’ attitude. Having suffered a shoulder injury in a motor accident, she has been unable to do this herself and was very appreciative to have our GoodGym team on hand.

Mrs F is a keen crafter, and has many fascinating ‘gadgets’, currently taking up the space that has been earmarked for her bed. Moving some of these items was essential, as it will make her discharge from hospital much safer.

After an hour and a half, several bags had been filled with charity shop donations, summer clothes had been transferred upstairs, a bed had been dismantled and craft items were stored safely in another room.

Family members had arrived to lend a hand, and were overwhelmed with the progress made.

It is always a privilege, and humbling, to be allowed into the homes and lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

A huge shout-out to Sam and Effie, for completing their first Mission Run...a fab start by both. Well done, team!
