A magnificent 7 ran 6km to help local charity.
A fabulous day for my first day as leader, and all the gang were incredibly supportive!
We had a gentle warm up as we swept towards Bournemouth gardens, our shirts shining bright in the hot sunshine . After a quick regroup, we had a tough hill workout as we made our way towards Boscombe and St Swithuns for our task at Hope housing.
Mark was there to great us and quickly put us to task, moving tables and BBQs , which proved to be just the warm-up event. The whole team was put to task lifting and distributing top-soil to prepare the ground for a new building. A whole tonne was shifted , an amazing effort! Daryl, Andrea and Tracy got to work raking and flattening while Caprice, Abi and Neil fixed their muscles with determined shovelling! A whole body work-out indeed!
Hope house is a fab charity and we are pleased to help!
We then wound our way back through horse-shoe common with much discussion about next weeks 10km effort :)
See you all then!
