Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Share the love

In a bid to keep people smiling through out January we have taken it upon our selves to offer the good people of the world not only weekly GoodGym runs but a few weekend ones.

Yesterday saw lots of newbies head over to the Wilton Estate on Greenwood Road a stones throw from Hackney Central.

We all met at the community centre in the middle of the estate, a quick chat about why our help is both needed and appreciated and we were off.

Our task for the day was raking and turning soil then stomping on it so it was nice an even. Task number two was attacking a near by patch with pick axes as the weeds and roots most definitely have a reputation for being quite stubborn.

Why this task was an important one is all of the areas that have now been tended to were used at spots for locals to leave weapons and drugs. The lovely Debbie & Claire have made it their business to make a difference and we are overjoyed that we can be part of the process, after all that is exactly what looking after your community is all about.

We got as much done as we could do but we will return with more man power in the coming weeks as there is still much work to be done.

Now it was time for our run, we said our goodbyes and off we went, a tour of our local area, some sprints up and down some blocks and lots of skipping and dancing through London Fields.

All in all a great saturday afternoon.

Hopefully i will see you all soon, in the meantime, continue to do small things with great love ;-)
