That's enough of the business
Last night 15 runners ran 11km to Surrey Docks Farm to help out. We were greeted by Gemma at the farm who talked us through the various tasks and we got to work:
Moving muck from one heap to another so it could be collected.
Clearing muck from beside the fence to get to the original trench.
Weeding and clearing around the vegetable garden.
Ivy cut back from around the vegetable plots.
Cleaning the windows of the pig pen.
We managed to get the trench cleared, lots of muck moved, a very full wheelbarrow of weeds out and a two tonne bag of ivy cut back. Phew! The farm is having piglets soon and sadly after last year when 12 of them were stolen, they're increasing security for the pigs. We then went to meet the baby goats!
Shout out to Gemma who joined us for her first ever group run and Daniel who joined us for his third! Nice one!
Baby goats galore and we learnt about a new breed - the anglo-nubians! David proved himself to be quite the goat-whisperer. We were a little delayed due to the goat-petting but we made it all the way back via transport or our own two feet for a slightly late finish.
Great work team, see you next week!
