10 of us braved the ever descending temperature tonight and ran 4.5km one way to Our Lady Of Peace School. This was a special run/task for one of our runners Emma as this used to be her primary school.. so a nice trip down memory lane

We met at 18.30 in our usual spot...the Salt Hill Activity Centre and after the task brief and warm up we headed out to collect Nisha and Sara from McDonalds as our mid way point meet up place. They assure me that they did not consume any contraband from the Big M prior to the run!

Thank you to Ruth and Sandy for backmarking this evening.

Arriving at the school in good time, we met with Paul, the school's caretaker and he gave us a sweeping statement of the tasks he wanted us to do.

Brushes in hand we split into two teams and using the school of thumb philosophy that more hands make light work we swept, brushed, picked and bagged the leaves all around the two areas Paul wanted us to focus on.

Compared to our last visit when there seemed to be a never ending supply of leaves, they were in smaller quantities today...maybe the children had been using them to make artwork?

The school has such a puntastic playground and resources it's no wonder they leaf school with such great qua-leaf-ications ... Emma is testament to that.

When I was at school I was told that I was just average...how mean is that!

After 30 minutes we thought be better leaf right now before we fall any deeper so we tidied away the tools leafing just enough time to do some age appropriate photos.

Clearly the team were just humouring me with my new snazzy phone...they really don't like being in the limelight so it was very good of them! Especially Chris he really doesn't like the posing!

We then headed back to base with a pit stop at the Big M to drop of Nisha and Sara then the rest of us got back to base for our cool down stretches.

Well done to everyone who took part in the race your pace challenge this month. So many of you having already completed the mileage and this also contributing to our January Challenge (which we have smashed!)

Next week's task is with the lovely Caron from The Dash Charity, a 5km total run and a task involving sweets!

Have a great week everyone Manjit
