As it was World No Car Day I walked to see the older person allocated to me by Age UK. To be honest it’s only 5k and it was always planned that I would treat these visits as if they were an official GG coach but it always seemed to rain on Tuesdays and sitting on someone’s couch in wet clothing is clearly impolite, once the weather became more clement lockdown hit. It is the second week that I’ve been permitted to resume visiting by Age UK and the way things are going it looks like it may soon be stopped again. I very much enjoyed my visit the resilience and good humour with which that generation faces adversity is inspiring. It was around the first anniversary of the passing of their spouse of 60+ years that lockdown started and yet they still keep calm and carry on. We still manage a good chat and a laugh everytime we meet up.
