Yet again Goodgym takes you to parts of town, gets you running up and down the hills and visiting the community projects you hadn’t been to before.
Old Boat Community Centre provides a home for a variety of users and groups and now under new management they are planning to revamp the garden area to encourage outdoor activity among the centres users.
Our task was to refresh a wood chipped area by weeding, cutting back brambles and barrowing in and spreading fresh wood chip. With three barrows but just one shovel, resourceful task owner Ellie had found various old saucepans and frying pans for us to use to shift the chips and in about 45 minutes we had transformed the area making it much more inviting and usable for residents.
The fitness session was a bit different tonight, involving moves designed to work on your mobility and co-ordination. And if any of you didn’t quite get the hang of them don’t worry they are now in my repertoire and there will be plenty of other opportunities!
And a very Happy Birthday to Jason who agreed even after running back up the hill that doing Goodgym is a great way to spend your birthday !
Community Centre providing an inclusive, safe and versatile space, with activities, to meet the wide-ranging needs of residents of both the local community and the wider Brighton and Hove area. We are fortunate to be able to offer ease of access, great facilities and lots of green space to all who visit.
