After a lovely 6km morning run I arrived at Mrs H's. I gave a quick knock at her door and stepped back as I waited for her to answer her door. She warmly greeted me and asked if I'd come by bike, "no, my legs are my wheels today, Mrs H!" I responded.

Mrs H seemed concerned as to whether I could carry all her shopping back as she handed across her shopping list to me. I took a quick glance at Mrs H's shopping list and was relieved when I saw it was primarily fruit and vegetables, along with a packet of sweets, greek yoghurt and 3 litres of lacto free milk; having carried 16 pints of milk up a hill the previous evening I reassured Mrs H that all her shopping was more than manageable!

Mrs H went through her shopping list with me, one side contained items she wanted from Waitrose and on the other side were the items she wanted from Iceland. I was impressed with the level of detail on the list, each item was fully named with the weight and current price according to the Waitrose and Iceland websites. She handed me some shopping bags and money, and reiterated what she had written at the end of her list, 'please no substitutes', and if you have any questions, please give me a call.

Armed with the shopping list, bags and money I set off on my run back towards Worcester Park. On my way to Mrs H I had passed Waitrose and Iceland so I knew I was heading the right way!

Treasure Iceland

I decided to get the Iceland items first, a pack of 5 bananas and a multi-pack of 3 fruit pastilles. Success! No queue to get in and both items acquired.

No deal on milk, we're not amoosed!

I headed round the corner to Waitrose and it wasn't straight in, there was a long queue - it was obviously the more popular shopping jaunt here! I enjoyed the sun as I queued and waited for my turn to enter. Once in, I quickly whipped around the fruit and vegetable aisles and grabbed the mushrooms, grapes, apples and tomatoes. Next up was the greek yoghurt which I spotted quickly. All was going very smoothly, until I got to the lacto milk and noticed there wasn't the 3 for £3 deal that Mrs H had jotted down from the website. I gave her a quick call to check if she still wanted 3, she decided 1 would do for now. I paid for the items and with my two full bags of shopping headed back to Mrs H, walking rather than running so as not to spoil any of the items.

I placed the two shopping bags on Mrs H's doorstep and waited for her to answer the door. She quickly answered and thanked me for getting her shopping. We then said our goodbyes and wished each other a good weekend.
