21 GoodGymers ran 6km, cleared 15 bags worth of leaves for Cecil Sharp House & got fitter
It was a Wednesday, it was humid and it was GG Camden time. No newbies this week but massive thanks to all you regulars for coming week in, week out. Much appreciated.
In the news this week:
Our task tonight was to help Cecil Sharp House, the home of English Folk music and lots of tree's! While we were doing that Steve, Jess & Michael were doing a mission in Camden to help build a wardrobe for Mr Z - read all about here.
Right, what did we actually do last night, so we all headed a mile north by north-east to help Cecil Sharp, an amazing community hub that survives on the use of its gardens for events. Therefore our work is very important. Once we arrived Susannah explained all about the richness in leaves and how they use them to mulch plants over the year. Nice!
Splitting into the following teams we smashed the task in 30 minutes:
Susannah said: "Would you like some bags of weeds to takeaway?"
After a group pic, Susannah asked if we wanted herbs & weeds for cooking and tea making to take home - of course we said! We arranged to collect post-fitness session.
Heading to Primrose Hill to not use the hill (this week), we first off did x10 squats, then shuttle runs using the lamposts (remembering our form) and then split into two ability groups and did the 'Camden File'. Lots of fun had all round + now we are fitter too!
On our way back to base we grabbed the big bag of weeds from Susannah, stretched and headed to the pub.
Sign up next week here, we are going to the farm - HEADTORCHES ESSENTIAL!
PB out.
English folk music and dance arts centre and venue staging live shows, with an archive and library. We help to maintain the garden space.
