22 GoodGymers ran 4km, put up Xmas Decorations for SPCA and leafleted for the Living Centre & Evolve Housing Support+
Welcome along to Katie whose first time it was last night, lovely to have you along and thanks for carrying the leaflets in your backpack!
In the news this week:
Well last night was FUN - what a way to start the Christmas cheer and merriment. After the intro, we warmed up and headed to St Pancras Community Association; is a local charity that promotes community activity in London's busy St Pancras and Somers Town area. They bring local community groups together and coordinate shared activities, sports facilities and premises that can be used for meeting rooms and offices.
Upon our arrival Cheryl told us our task for the evening was to decorate the office, halls, windows, nursery, stairs and everywhere in between - spread the cheer and of course the fake snow! We split into four teams and got to work, putting up tree's, sticking stars to windows and pinning up decorations above doorways. Lots of fun!
Joy to the SPCA
Highlights included: Graham managed to put up his star STRAIGHT, Steve & Pritesh put their baubles together, Frances got covered in tinsel and Pritesh turned into SANTA (aka fake snow). Over 30 minutes we had so much fun and made quick work of it all!
The next quick task for the team was to leaflet for Evolve Housing Support+, a fantastic charity who are trying to get a Christmas gift for each of 700 homeless people who stay at their hostels. We leafletted around the St Pancras area and then headed to Granary Square for a progression run before home and of course the pub.
Sign up for next week here, we are off to Cecil Sharp House for the last time of the year!
