Shouts out to Claire and Tina who came to their first GGH Run! Give em a cheer!

two tasks

This week we were heading back to Bruce Grove Youth Centre for a spot of painting in their careers room and some weeding over at TChances.

Task one

We left base with daylight on our side and the weather being kind. After dropping Dave and his group off at TChances we headed straight for The Bruce Grove Youth Centre where the painting is getting closer to being finished.

After clearing the room of its contents and some faffing about with opening a paint tin we were off spreading another coat of paint on the walls and ceilings of the careers room. As we worked away Glen a Sanjuro training instructor who leads fitness sessions at the centre for some of the special needs children / young people who attend. He was keen to find out what we were about and went on to tell us that Jackie Chan funds the project at the centre.. cool!

Time really did fly by this week. We hung on in there and tried to get as much finished as possible before packing up. After a quick clean up we were off again in the direction of HQ.

Task two

Our group went back to TChances to pull about weeds on another section of the bedding. When we got there, the 5 of us were brought a rake, a hoe, a scrubber, and a spade. And then another set of tools was brought out! Nice to be prepared for anything. Interesting litter find of the week: Many Kinder Bueno wrappers. Someone's got a sweet tooth.

Time flew buy, and while we were tidying up the bags of weeds, and the piles of tools, we took the opportunity to pop-in and listen to a bit of the music jams going on inside.

We then headed back to Tottenham Green in Indian File, and a couple of laps of Secret Surges, for some high intensity work.

Listening to the Jazz drifiting out from the Bernie Grants Art Centre, we did a series of exercises; high knees, tricep dips, side planks, runners lunges, and were about to embark on a series of burpees, when we were saved by the arrival of Varon and the rest of the painting crew.

Shouts out to Dashing Dave for the support.. always much appreciated!!
