Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Amy L (she/her)
Meggie clocked up her 5th good deed in less than a month since joining GoodGym and Slough Taskforce member Jenny 'holidayed' in Maidenhead for her second time during the same period.
Their task was watering at the Maidenhead Community Allotment, which we have been doing twice a week during the recent hot weather. Jenny reports:
It was all drier than we thought (despite yesterday's rain), so we watered everything and also did a little bit of weeding and litter picking so that it was all tidy. Lovely allotment and great GoodGym company 😊 I really enjoyed my tourism - thank you for having me!
Well done team!
The Maidenhead Community Allotment is run by a group of volunteers, who grow food to share with local residents, the users of the Boyn Grove Community and Resource Centre and Maidenhead Foodshare. They work with Men in Sheds, who are based on the same site. Men in Sheds is an initiative to combat loneliness by providing a space for men to connect and chat over practical tasks.
