Goodgym York got the year off to a bang with Ed forgetting how to turn off the alarm at CVS and setting off the whole system! So the warm up was done as far away from the building as we could manage to avoid the noise. We numbered off with people listing their running/fitness goals for 2024. Louise's aim to run all of the parkruns inside the M25 sounded particularly challenging. You can do it Louise 💪
Micheal lead the group out, whilst Ed waited for someone to come out and reset the alarm, and a slightly hungover Vicky back-marked. Fortunately for her we weren't running too far and were soon at the Holgate Community Garden for a task briefing from Laura.
Ben, Becky and Jenna headed off to basketball court for a spot of leaf clearing (and a few attempts at getting a rather deflated basketball in to the net 🏀). David, Barbara and Louise got to work cutting down some very overgrown Buddleia, whilst the Jamie, making his second GG appearance 💪, cracked on with weeding the area around the wooden train, along with Michael, Laura, Neil and Vicky
It wasn't long before the rain started pouring and some soggy GGers were ready for their New Year's Eve countdown themed fitness sesh culminating in a 90 second plank to tick it off the January Challenge Bingo list.
Great effort from all those who braved the rain and got very wet backs whilst completing their planks!
