We kicked off our session last with a lovely celebration - it was Beth's 200th good deed! Give her a cheer for all that amazing running, good doing, and even managing 175 squats two days after a half marathon!

We also named our fave sporting films as we did our warm up, which included Cool Runnings, The Damn United and Run Fat Boy Run, before setting off to Chiswick Allotments to do a spot of digging.

We soon met teacher Ella at the gates and followed her to the plot which the school uses for teaching and therapy purposes. She also showed us the stash of tools generously donated by a local prison so we could form our own little chain gang.

While green fingered Johnny and Beth got stuck in weeding the herbs, the rest of the group did an amazing job digging over two areas of soil so it could be ready for planting - all watched over by a rather sinister scarecrow. Although the work was tough, the weather was freezing, so after a good productive session we called it a night and ran back to the Town Hall for our fitness.

The idea for the whole body workout was one exercise for one rep, rising incrementally until we finished off with 11 squats and then moved back down the pyramid. Sorry about the dreaded frogs, but you all smashed it.

This weekend there is a littler picking community mission at Harvard Hill - don't forget to check out our amazing (we hope) planting job there! Next week we're back at a local school that we haven't visited since before the pandemic, so there will be plenty to do. You can sign up for it here. Until then, keep warm and run happy!
