Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sarah Hunt
What a beautiful 'bluebird' day to return to Ms D's garden for this mission! Myself and Mel were kindly greeted with a hot coffee and plentiful biscuit selection.
Mel set to work clearing leaves from the garden which were starting to kill the grass while I helped with some heavy lifting of hanging baskets onto hooks.
After finding as many terracotta pots as possible in D's 'Aladdins Cave' of a garden, we set to work with the potting of the remainder of bulbs from last time (we counted approximately 500 bulbs).
!Handy potting tip of the month! Put an old napkin or bit of kitchen roll in the bottom of the pot for drainage, it's better than pebbles.
There were so many bulbs to plant that we layered them up inside the pots with large bulbs at the bottom, medium in the middle and smaller bulbs just below the surface.
When these little 'babbers' (not exactly sure what that word means but it was used a lot...) come out in Spring, they will add a wonderful splash of colour to the garden, with the different layers blooming at different times.
