Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by JULIA GLEESON
GoodGym Great Vibes
Meeting at our alternative centre this evening at Worthing Leisure Centre it was great to see the GoodGym team out in force tonight . Belinda, Barbara, Paul , Anne, Lucy, Duncan. Jay in his new red t shirt :) and Tamsin and Jemmie meeting us at the task.
After the usual Worthing GoodGym banter and also a discussion about #Run and Talk and mental awareness day on Wednesday we set off on a warm up run to the Rowans which is a rehabilitation centre for patients specialising with patients with brain injuries.
It was a delight to find Tamsin and Jemmie waiting for us and also to be met by Debbie from The Rowans. Tonight our task was based around the 2 rehabilitation gyms and a treatment room. With winter approaching we had been asked to do a anti bacterial clean of all the touch points on the gym equipment to fend off the dreaded germs.
Pun and dusted
The team wasted no time in equipping themselves with gloves, anti bac , polish and cloths and set about the task . As usual there was a lot of humerous conversations which wasn't without the odd bit of risque innuendos. We do love our weekly #Run and Talk :)
Big shout out to Jay in his new red GG shirt. Cheers Jay :)
A Clean Getaway
30 short minutes later the team had 'flashed' through all 3 rooms and after some group photos we packed up ,loaded Jemmie into her running buggy and headed for the park at Tarring for our fitness session.
Eternal run time of the spotless mind
Tonights fitness session was based on a HIIT session ( High intensity Interval Training ) We were working on strength and endurance with a series of squats, squat jumps, burpees , sprint lunges , high knee runs, sprints, mountain climbers and wall squats with a leg lift . This evening I had an assistant coach in the form of Jemmie who helped by shouting out numbers of repetitions to the runners together with some great demos of moves !
With a huge group 'GG family ' hug we said goodbye to Tams and Gemmie and also to Jay who was heading for some quality drinking time whilst the rest of us headed back on a leisurely run back to base finishing with some stretches.
Next week
So watch the website and the whats app for details of next weeks task . Its likely to be meeting at 6 pm at Heene Cemetery as we had a cancellation which friends of Heene snatched up ( we are in great demand ! )
Have a great week everybody and keeeeeep #Running and Talking
Julia :)
