It was a real day of Mission's for Pauline and Matthew. This was the first gardening one of the day and it was great to get over to help Mr T. His garden had not been tended for years it seemed and there were some enormous leylandii trees dwarfing the property. We were met by Tom, one of Mr T's carers and for the first time since we started doing Missions, Tom got stuck in to help us. It gave us, just as much as him a boost and with three of us we got loads of the back garden cleared. It was mainly brambles, which sliced me good and proper. When am I going to learn to wear leggings, or anything over my legs? After an hour and a half we had made some really good progress but will need to go back and do some more work on it, which we will hopefully do in a couple of weeks. Tom has said, as one of Mr T's carers that he will put in another session with us, which is amazing dedication but that just shows how much he cares for those is looking after.

The weather for the day was forecast to be heavy showers and we were so lucky that we largely escaped them when we were actually working.

Mr T has severe mental health issues and so to see him smile and joke with us and to see his face when he saw what we had done in the garden makes jobs like this worthwhile. He even said that he was going to go out and potter in the garden and do some work. Eventually the leylandii will be coming down, which Tom is going to organise.

For the first time in years Mr T will be able to use his side gate to get into the garden. It was so long since he had been able to do that because a tree had grown in the way, which Pauline aka "Hacker H", removed. It was hard but exhilarating work and it was back to my place for a quick snack before the second gardening job of the day, and my third task as I had already done a food hamper delivery first thing.
