Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Michael Kidd
Saturday morning in South Bermondsey saw Girija, Anna and I meeting up to move Mrs C's wardrobe. Anna and I are becoming a regular Mission team now but it was Girija's first ever, so extra cheers are required there. Also, it was the first outing for Anna's new Ninja/50th Deed T-shirt so she needs a few more cheers too.
When we finally managed to find the entrance to Mrs C's flat complex, she showed us in with a broad smile and the enormity of the job became apparent. I've shifted literally a shed-load of furniture in my GoodGym endeavours but this was the biggest and heaviest single piece I'd come across. Mrs C needed her enormous wardrobe moved from one side of the room to the other and some other smaller items relocated - it wasn't a great distance but it was heavy duty kit!
Not to be disheartened, we formulated the movement plan, including the required routes and turning circles and set to work. Within minutes I was sweating profusely but half an hour later we'd made it to the end. Credit to Anna and Girija for attention to detail during the relocation and to me for brute force. Not a perfect job but Mrs C was very happy and we then had time to put the aesthetical finishing touches on the landscaping of the bedroom.
On to the next one!
