Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Laura Waller
The Farm of Futures community growing project were in need of some help taming the overgrown and weedy growing areas and borders and goodgym was happy to oblige!
This awesome project supports the growth of local ideas as well as food, promotes cross generational skill sharing, educates on aquaponics and encourages the farming of waste for upcycled, community designed products.
So armed with loppers, Jane, Laura and Sam quickly got to work attacking the mass of brambles and weeds blocking access to the growing beds. Meanwhile Susi got stuck in with clearing space for a new greenhouse to be erected.
The next challenge was to stuff all the thorny cuttings into the garden waste bag without sustaining too many injuries - a large sheet of cardboard proved to be a handy tool for this!
After taking a final socially distanced group picture, we headed off leaving behind a promise to return again soon.
