Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Michael Kidd
A Kennington high-rise estate was the location for a mid-morning snack of a Mission for Sarah and myself, who both worked conveniently close enough by. Today it was for Mr W, who was awaiting discharge from hospital and needed his lounge cleared to accommodate his hospital bed. Staple food in the GoodGym Mission diet of late - a very common and crucial task for the last few months.
Today's helping was fairly straightforward, at least when we finally gained access to the flat with the right keys! We were met by one of the Red Cross troopers who really are heroes and she left us to our own devices in employing our creative licence to redesign Mr W's lounge.
After multiple GoodGym Missions of this nature, both Sarah and I are now expert removal consultants and squared away an armchair and large table in no time. A quick tidy up and relocation of sofas meant that the bed can now easily be slotted in and Mr W can come home. On to the next job.
