SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Liv Parker-Scott
Today 5 new members of the Brompton team joined their first GoodGym session by cycling down to The William Hobbayne Half Acre Woodland to help with a variety of tasks that will support the community use of the land.
After the heatwave we were happy with a slightly cooler start to the morning which began with us pedaling as a group through some lovely green spaces including Perivale Park, Brent Valley Park and Hanwell Viaduct. We took it at a nice pace and soon arrived to find Dee from the project ready to show us all the ways we could help make a difference.
The space is used as a forest school and with school summer holiday camps ready to start there next week we were there just in time to improve the space for the children next week!
We split up over the woodland to do a mix of litter picking, trimming and removing any hazardous stumps, branches or brambles.
Everyone really enjoyed being in the space and making a contribution and throughout we all chatted about the benefits of being outside for our mental wellbeing.
The team blazed through all the tasks that needed doing and before we knew it we were cycling back to Brompton HQ in the lunchtime sunshine.
The William Hobbayne Charity supports a variety of different projects around the Hanwell area. The tasks we can do for them vary depending on the needs across these projects.
