Awesome Kudos to the fifteen runners who put a stake in the ground to claim a piece of goodness already in 2020!
It was a fresh morning waiting for the start location to open its doors, but it gave us a chance to welcome Mike back for a 2nd run (no need to wait so long for the next one Mike). As well as Chris and Annabel from Hammersmith and Sam from Southwark who was on his 2nd good deed of the day, making way to claim a hattrick before he is through with his Sunday.

The idea of a nice and KNEES-EY warm up for a starter run appealed but as we were all no stranger to GG the opportunity to welcome the year in with some fitness appeal meant we surged a bit deeper to make sure we were primed for what was to follow at the task. And so, after some mobility work, running form drills and planking off the Christmas cobwebs no task could be too taxing for our team to face now.

The short run was just enough to complement our thorough warm up work and leave enough gas in the tank to make sure we could assist our local Scouts group to the max. We were clearing the ever falling leaves from the long path to the hut, breaking down and removing ash from several years of bonfire displays as well as dragging bags of leaves away from the hut and conducting an inventory check on the tents for future trips.

All out to help a Scout we like to think we left the Ham and Petersham Scout Group ready and set to go and blast into an eventful start to the New Year with all in order and ready for use by all in our community that use this great space.
The run back saw us dodging everything from pedestrian, sausage dog and kayaks along the river so the mobility drills came in handy in the end and we had plenty of headspace left to carve our first PUN of the year in Richmond thanks to Mike which rounded up a great mornings work and left us all rosy cheeked and feeling warmer inside and out!
Happy New Year all and here’s to some great deeds and good running for all in 2020!
(Tomorrow we are off to Mortlake Youth Zone so get signed up and see you at WF’s usual time!)
