On the first of the month, new sergeant in arms Elle Energy, Marched the "dirty dozen" Southwark Soilders 4miles, into Camberwell for a Wednesday night of "Salvation".

Despite the cold weather, I was full of excitement to begin my new-south escapades on this pinch punch first of the month in March. Thankfully, my first migration was thawed immediately by the warm welcomes and friendly smiling faces from my new Peckham crew. YAY

After welcomes and housekeeping, it was full steam ahead and the Southwark brigade got to Marching - well running actually, through the whistling wind, up the steepest of hills towards our task for the evening: Dirty-Toys are us in Camberwell, for the fantastic Salvation Army, who provide affordable nursery childcare for the local community.

With homing-pigeon Helena at the helm and GG original Beth bringing up the rear, we busted through the chill to dash off the 2 mile route in no time at all, cruising to our army-base for the night in less than 30mins! POW POW

As we arrived we were welcomed by the fantastic Catherine, who revealed the mountains of toys she had laid out for us to clean, sheen and make gleam once more, including some rather scary looking dolls who needed more than a cheer up to say the least! Marigolds at the ready and buckets of suds soaped up and ready to rock, the team got cracking, while I of course, demonstrated my fantastic leadership skills by........playing on the slide. standard behaviour from me

Drop and give me twenty!.... minutes of tasking that is!!! Now Attenttiiiooonnnn Time for the 5min fitness break out section of the night and what better way to intro the team to my British military-fitness fun, than to bust out the 100 squat challenge YIPPEEEE (Hey at least it wasn't Burpees right?!?!?) So to the soulful sounds of Jess Glyne, she held our hands as we glute-thrusted our way through the challenge.

Legs and butts, well and truly smashed, the team picked up where they left off and with just 10 mins to go, completed the mammoth toy-mountain of cleaning, stacking and repacking, before rocking back out onto the road for the last-leg back to base.

In honour of old captain Jo and with the theme of "Leave no soldier behind" with gusto and grit, the crew annihilated the "Indian-March* Drill, up the epic hill. What followed was a 200m walk-lunging stretch and curb step-ups for good measure!

To complete their last slog of the eve and with only 800m to go, Helena led the team towards their final effort for the night - One final sprint all the way home, which they once again destroyed with laughter and good vibes, ringing through the air!

This Wednesday Goodgym sesh certainly packed a punch on the first of the month and all I can say is WOW! With my awesome welcome from the South, from this positive pack of Peckham pacers, I can't wait to fly South again.

Until we March again.

DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD. INSPRE
