Find out about GoodGym TaskForce

Share the love

The People's Republic of Stokes Croft - home to graffiti, great little independent shops, groovy pubs, and gardens that need a bit of go-getting graft. Gee, it's great to get the Good Gym gang joining up once again with Incredible Edible for a spot of weeding and digging!

And what a turn out - 20 people meant that there was a shortage of tools, but that never fazes Good Gym - we got stuck in with our hands. The site we were working at is to be called Bobs Garden, in memory of a local gentleman who passed away recently, and it needed a lot of work. The mattock worked overtime, we found all manner of strange things including someone’s passport, and it was tough. We hate to leave a task unfinished, but we had to in this case – but like the Terminator, we’ll be back for more clearing!

As Bristol is a city of hills, we celebrated it’s steepness by heading up and up and up, to a new plaza by Bristol University, and stopped for a few bodyweight exercises. We then headed down, but then up again to Brandon Hill where we stretched out in the dark (I thought there’d be lights!) and admired the glowing city below.

With loads of new people, some second and third timers, and the usual regulars, this was a fantastic(ly hilly) run. As Autumn closes in, please do keep coming, keep running, and keep doing GOOD! Thanks chaps!
