Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Even as the nights draw in, people still seem happy to brighten up the city with a flash of high viz, a spark of head torchlight, and a burst of energy. And for that, we’re very grateful!
19 people gathered at The Folk House, including four new people to GoodGym (welcome to the gang, chaps!). We didn’t hang around – it’s getting nippy – and so trotted off at a good pace to the Trinity Centre in Easton, where we collected leaflets to be distributed around the local area.
Splitting in to groups of four or five, the streets of Easton were full of runners. The slap of foot on pavement, the flap of fingers in letterboxes, the ‘I hate those bristles!’ as we tried to force a single piece of A5 paper in to well insulated portals (top tip – fold the paper) – all these sounds and more (‘Look! A fox!’ And ‘we've been here before’) filled the cool suburban air.
It didn't take long to flyer the area, and we gathered back after 30 minutes at the Trinity Centre where we found we had more left over. On our way back to the Folk House, we continued to flyer – a fast paced, frenetic and fantastic flyering if ever there was one.
The work was not over though. We stopped for a cheeky core session on College Green under a massive tree that had kindly kept the grass dry for us, and then had a good stretch out before slowly meandering our way back to our starting point.
Remember gang – bring head torches if you have them, and also check out channel 8 on your telly boxes on Thursday 10th October at 18.30 to see GoodGym Bristol featured in a show called Made in Bristol.
