I joined Friends of Maidenhead Waterways to help them with the final stage of setting up the French Drain on the York Stream in the town centre. This will help the wooden beams from rotting.

The sun was in its autumn magnificence at 8.30 am as we gathered by York Stream to wait for arrival of stone bags.

We emptied stone bags into French drain that I and Sheila helped to set up previously. We worked in pairs; and the finish line was soon there!

I used my secateurs to proon some bushes on pathway and clear plants at end of their summer life. Always can find something else to do.

Afterwards, we joined for a coffee in local café looking out to the York stream. We sat in sunshine and discussed a strategy for Waterways future plans.

When we departed, I used the opportunity to litter-pick on my way home from York Stream to Lidl, Halfords, train station, The Gullet pathway all the way to Desborough Park. 2 small litter bags filled. Satisfied!
