17 Pow Pow Peckham Pacers and a whole lotta sheep, donkeys, pigs and goats, (no we ain't 'Kidding') Rocked roads, murdered miles and terrifically tasked, for Surrey Docks Farm. All in the proud name of GG Southwark!! Woo hoo!
Muggy and sweaty were the absolute themes of the evening but did that stop the smiles and good vibes from the sexy south OF COURSE NOT Everyone was feeling good and raring to go on a beautiful evening in Southwark.
So with housekeeping underway at base camp and a pledge to get out the door at 7pm on the dot, 13 Farm-iliar faces also welcomed 4 lovely newbies into the mix this eve hurrah! And can I just say I was delighted to see that last weeks fitness frenzie didn't scare off Clare stolen from Greenwich who was back for more mayhem in the south yay!!!
With all the crew nearly out the door, we were joined by a super fly-by, last min, quicker than quick entrance from Hanna and Stu. But no messing, we were all out the door by 7.02!! Yipppeee.
Already knowing that we would have some speed splits in our midst, I happily cut the crew in 2 and the cheetah pack were off in a flash while I led from the back, the party pace possey.
But it was no walk in the park for the backpackers.... (ok we did take a short stroll in the park for some selfie fun) we smashed the first 3.3mile dash to join the faster gang up at the farm, who by the way had been working like demons for a full 20mins before our arrival!!! Heros!!!!
So for the last 25mins as a full squad on deck, we pulled weeds, stomped on compost, wheeled and dumped mulch and cooed to our hearts content at porky pigs, cute baby sheep and gorgeous donkeys. It was animal farm heaven!!
Heaven I say, until the stinging nettles started to bite back, but no worries Pass the Oink-ment and we'll carry on
With the timer ticking down we gave it full throttle for the last big efforts to make more of a difference of the heavily overgrown paths and what an effort I must say! The team worked so tirelessly that I could barely pull them away to run the second leg home for the eve!
In order to service the full needs of the gang, half opted for the run back and half the train.... oh boy and Train it we did.... with squat holds, press ups, pull ups and planks on the platform and oh yes on the train too!!! To the delight of 3 local kiddies who joined us in our fitness fun!! No we didn't steal baby goats I mean actual human children!!
Last run back to old spike and arriving only 5mins before the cheetah runners who smashed it back in under 30mins flat, we discussed holidays with mums and the painful tv experience that is Love Island oh yes it's all about the culture in peckham don't cha know! Lol.
To finish we embarked on some epic group stretching and of course loads more laughter and love and with that, the group said farewell to another amazing session at GG.
Fitness, fun, foliage and farms.... All in a days work for these baaaaaaaaad ass bandits from the south!!
See you next time!!!!
