It was very chilly this afternoon so after a quick chat with Ms J we got straight into tackling the weeds in the patio and rockery in her back garden.

It was brilliant to be joined on this mission by David, with whom I had just returned from the morning Bristol group run and Vanessa, who had recently become coach run and mission verified, and was joining us for her first mission.

Vanessa had come prepared with a bag full of clothes, gloves, tools and wellies too - top preparation! Well done on your first mission Vanessa!

With an array of trowels, forks and a very useful weed remover we made quick work of clearing the back garden and so headed round to the front and tidied up that area too, so that Ms J could enjoy the views from front and back.

Shortly after an hour and with hands, feet and just about everything else starting to get cold, we had finished the weeding and got it all bagged.

We said our goodbyes to Ms J who, we discovered, had been knitting little hats for premature babies at the RUH in Bath, getting in her own good deed for the day - lovely!

A nice mission for a very nice lady.
