It was an early start at the Baby Bank this morning, as the 'Rag Man' was coming to collect donated clothes that had not been suitable to give out to families. Bin bags full of them had been accumulating for the last few weeks in the upstairs room, and had to be taken downstairs and put outside ready for collection. The best technique was to roll the bags down the stairs and then clear up the mess when some of them inevitably split. Good fun, though! When the van came we helped throw all the bags onto the back of the van. These clothes will be recycled, and it also generates some income for the Baby Bank. I stayed on to do some clothes sorting and help getting clothes together for a referral. A satisfying morning's work

Providing essentials to families in extreme need

The Baby Bank collects donations of good quality clothes, equipment, and furniture to help families in extreme need. They provide essentials ranging from everyday items like nappies, and wipes to larger items like cots. They support families beyond the baby stage, for example with school uniform. They aim to give all children the best possible start in life.
