Bananas 🍌 against loneliness
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Wandsworth.
- Thursday, 12th of November 2020
It was my 100. mission and it was clear it would be a uphill battle. Mrs C lives in a glorious neighborhood on a much hated hill on our 10km running route.
In the first step I fetched the strawberries and all other items from the store. Next was the climbing, first the hill in Southfield and next the flight of stairs. Lockdown might not be showing any effect on the virus infection figures but on fitness!!!
I was rewarded with an excited Mrs C relieved to see that I hadn't forgotten anything but that the bananas were just deep in my bag. She invited me for tea which I had to decline but we chatted across the doorstep for a while.
It made me aware how lonely a lot of people are at the moment and that we are delivering more than veg and toilet roll but also a smile and a distraction!
