BANKing on the communities CAN do spirit
3 GoodGymers made their way to help the Portsmouth Foodbank in Portsmouth.
- Saturday, 23rd of November 2019
- Led by Rosie Sayers
Within just a few hours the customers at Fratton Tesco helped us fill 15 crates of much needed food donations for our local food bank. What an achievement!
A big welcome to Kris who did his first official Good Gym task today and says he will be back! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Maxine, Rosie and Kris alongside Nicky and Paul from the foodbank, took it in turns to welcome the customers to the store and ask if they would like to donate an item or two to the foodbank. We also helped collect, sort and pack the donations into crates. All of us were overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm from the community, many providing bags of cans, bottles and cartons of goods!
We took on a few additional tasks too such as directing customers around the store, organising trolleys and of course no mission is complete without a bit of litter picking!
