Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Regulars Andy and Simon were joined by Donna back for a second visit and first time Deepa, fresh back from a yoga retreat in India!
We had a nice steady jog over to Ealing Baptist Church to meet Roger. First obstacle! The path had been recently concreted and we didn't know how to get in. We could see Roger in the kitchen, steam rising from pots, but shouting and waving didn't get his attention. We knocked on a door: wasn't his. We went round the side: couldn't find the other entrance. We were just about to hurl a large rock through the window (ok, a tiny pebble) when he finally noticed us and let us in.
Inside were were shown drawers and cupboards full of tins, and more tins, and more tins...
Our job was to sort them into categories and dates. As our eyes started blurring over from reading dates we decided on a little contest: who could find the tin with the most-distant Best Before Date?
There were a couple of 2013s in there and a 2012, then Andy thought he had it in the bag with a 2007, but Deepa pipped him with a 2006. Let us know what it tastes like.
Donna kept finding exotic stuff and Simon just found more beans.
Before leaving, newly-qualified yoga instructor Deepa took us through Sun Salutation, a series of yoga moves. Verdict: great instruction and we should all do more yoga.
Roger had once again cooked up a delicious treat for us to take home. Meatballs and rice this time. The journey back was tough as we salivated at the thought of our delightful dinners.
Great job everybody. We are back next week.
See you there,
Simon
