Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Danny
A ground floor dining room in Acton is set to become a bedroom following Abi and my Mission there this morning. As such, a few bits of furniture just needed shifting around the house.
Once we'd moved a sofa out to create some space, we went with the neighbour (our Mission contact) upstairs to find the bed which we were due to bring down. Unusually there were three bedrooms, four beds, and no one was home, so a bit of detective work was needed to establish which the correct one to move was. Once we'd just about made-up our minds, the three of us were stood around one of the beds when… a sound. 😶
It was a cat. All the while we’d been in there pondering, a tiny old cat had been in there with us hiding under a chair. It seemed a bit perturbed at having it’s rest disturbed by three strangers, and let out a bit of a hiss when I cooed at it, so we left it be and worked around it quietly removing one of the beds. Another bit of wildlife we disturbed in the bedroom was some spiders from behind the headboard – consequently as we descended the stairs, hands full carrying the bed, I got to experience a few disoriented spiders crawling across my sweaty head and face. 🕷️ 🕷️ 🕷️ It was like something Big Brother might administer at the Ministry of Love's Room 101.
Abi had thoughtfully vacuumed the space downstairs where the sofa had been so we put the bed there, made it, and were on our way back into the lovely sunny weekday morning.
