Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nick Moore
Marta and I met Ms J's daughter at her flat, and once she'd removed the bedding, showed us the bed base to be removed (via the garden door into the patio). We had part one of the mission completed without too much bother. I think at this point both of us thought we'd be done within the hour...
The new bed (an Ikea special) was lying pristine in its box in the hall just waiting to be brought alive. About 90 minutes later, and after some excellent teamwork, a fair bit of perspiration, close study of the instruction leaflet, only one frustrating moment of undo/redo, and the usual Ikea induced sore fingers thanks to relentless twirling of the trusty Ikea Allen key, we had the bed base complete, the new mattress laid on top, and Ms J's bedding back on top of that - all ready for Ms J to hopefully enjoy a more comfortable night's sleep than she's been experiencing recently.
We each headed off home in the late afternoon sunshine for a lie down...
