Tonight not only did we visit an old friend in the form of a regular task venue but the task owner joined us for the run! Vanessa from ETNA Community Centre joined us at Wholefoods to let all the new GoodGym runners know about their great menu of activities available to the public.

Yes you did hear me correctly, we had MORE GoodGym Richmond first timers, Harriet joined us from GG Lambeth, we also had Sammi and another St Mary's University staff member, Christina . We were a strong pack of 14 ready to conquer weeding and plant potting for ETNA. Before we ran anywhere though we needed a good warm up, the strange and spooky orange sky of the day was no more and we were in the thick of winter darkness at 7pm, head torches at the ready. We all squinted as we tried to work out the difference between a lunge and squat from Mark's shadowed movements. A quick game of "grab the glove" and we could feel our fingers and toes again!

After running around the centre of Richmond for over a year you would think that we would have exhausted all routes but nope! Mark managed to take us on a new 4km journey while we chatted about the benefits of running in a group.

Once at ETNA, Vanessa loaded us up with tools, bulbs, compost and pretty new plants to brighten up their front garden. We divided and conquered, some weeding, others on the hunt to borrow more soil and the rest of us taking up landscape gardening trying to make the two plant pots perfectly symmetrical in their design.

But we didn't stop there, tonight was a double task delivery, after we downed our gloves and tools we picked up 500 ETNA leaflets to deliver to Richmond Residents letting them know all the wonderful things that ETNA put on in the community.

So now we hang up our red shirts for another week before we prepare to do good again.

In other news, it is very exciting to learn that we now have 3 runners at GG Richmond who will be running marathons over the next 7 months.

Also, on 30th October is our (spooky) GG Social, please discuss where you would like to all go for a drink after the task and bring ideas to next week's session. Also if you have documents that need checking for DBS in order to do Coach and Mission runs please bring them when you next run with us.
