Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nick Moore
Last Tuesday, Sarah had successfully helped Ms A plant various pots on her sun catching balcony, for which Ms A was very complimentary (especially regarding Sarah's ability to move some very heavy pots!).
She'd asked for a volunteer to come back to help clear the run off and drains around her balcony that seemed to be blocked by compost and accumulated gunk (technical term alert). Fortunately the sun was out, and so armed with Ms A's Charlie Dimmock branded fork, trowel and a dangerous looking kitchen knife I got to work along the edging to do as best I could. Ms A then also pointed out that the drain at the end needed clearing - which required removal of the grill (bike Allen key to the rescue) - and a good clear out by hand and brush down.
With those tasks complete, Ms A then asked me to construct a glass bird table and bird bath - both easily done and requiring no tools or prior mechanical knowledge - and with the pots all moved back to their positions, everything got a good watering. During this time Ms A happily sat in her living room and we had a good chat about the world and the challenges of the strange times we live in.
Once all was done Ms A was delighted with her now tidied up balcony, and I think will look forward to spending some nice days out there further adding to her plant display and hopefully seeing a few birds take advantage of their newly opened swimming bath...

Fabulous work on this mission Nick. Sounds like Ms A will greatly benefit from her lovely outdoor space!
