Todays group run was to our furthest task owner giving us a nice and chunky 12km round trip to Kids Inspire.
9 runners set off from the Uni to run through the streets of the city, a quick photo call in the uni on one of the sculptures and away we went. Rich & Russell lead the way and Laurie, Andy & Katie brought up the rear. We picked up Adam en-route at about a mile in to the run. It was a very muggy run and when we arrived at Kids Inspire we were all looking for a nice drink and luckily Louise had some bottles of orange juice for us to quench our thirst. Rachel & Catherine, were there so we were now 12 Goodgymers as they had arrived earlier and were already at work clearing the garden waste. Laurie, Jennifer & Katie elected to sweep the playground while the rest got to work in groups, bagging the waste into builders canvas sacks. Doug, Rich, and Adam helped Rachel & Catherine with Andy, Russell and Paul working in their group. After tidying up it then clearly it was playtime! Rich & Andy had a go on the trampoline, Rich & Adam on the swings, Catherine & Andy on the jeep!! Playtime over as it was time for the return trip back to base and we decided a country route along the river was much nicer than the main road, a little bit longer but so much better. Rachel, Adam and Laurie peeled off at various points along the route and the rest of us got back to the Uni except Catherine decided to make up her 6k by running around the car park! A true runner. :) We are back to KIds Inspire on the 14th August.
