Another lovely evening of gardening at Mornington Hall

This time we were focused on trimming the hedges lining the well-used walkway outside the hall, making it more accessible for users.

After being let in by Cathie, we got straight to work armed with secateurs, a rake, a shovel and a rogue wheelbarrow. We made light work of the thinner branches and used some elbow grease to fell the thicker ones. Ever the gracious host, Cathie offered up hot drinks and lots of great conversation to keep us fueled.

Before long, we'd met a hurdle as the bin we had been using to dispose of the garden waste was full of long, thick branches. Cue our acrobatic hero Charlotte who had gracefully climbed in while our backs were turned and was diligently stamping down the contents to make space the remainder of the branches and leaves. Massive thanks again Charlotte!

After about an hour, we had made a big difference to the area and Cathie was extremely grateful. After a quick photo and a visit from Ruby the dog , we were on our way!

The group are struggling to keep the growth in the grounds under control.
