2 ACE GoodGymers come down to Tottenham Green for a mixed doubles match: Sam and Charlie v Litter and Bindweed

There were lots of cans and bottles across the green - alcohol, energy drinks and orange DEUCE. Unfortunately, there were bits of litter as far as we could Agas-see! Luckily, our litter pickers proved to be handy (Murray), and helped us get the litter over the net (actually a fence). At one point, it looked like there was going to be a protest as a large rat ran across the grass. But that didn’t stop play!

In the next set, the bindweed was ALL-TIED round the fence and was suffocating the plants. We removed it so we could RETURN the area to its former glory. We didn’t want to get COURT out, so we tried to pull it up by its roots and threw the plants away so they wouldn’t be SEEDED in the new season.

There was so much of the bindweed that we could have continued on until ten-ish… But our GGHaringey umpire would have said we were WimbleDONE by 8pm, so the fun was Navratil-over for the day.

Nad-all that was left to do was SERVE the bottles and cans into the bin. There was only a small opening to the recycling bin, which made us a tiny bit Fed-erer up as it was hard to tell if the recycling was in or out.

But we smashed it! We tidied up, took a selfie, and headed off home.
